“Finding a different place to draw that motivation from” Jk on doing Barkley again. Also, I know the value in coming face to face with your weaknesses in a race setting for what it does to your ability to overcome them in the day to day setting. I love the way you articulated that, John.

Interesting to hear about the excellent preparation, going over sections of the course at least three times added to a tough physical and mental background and a quiet self-confidence shows a BGR record time was on the cards, Obviously, there are things that can go wrong on the day but thankfully there was a decent weather window and support team available. Congratulations.

So the stones are the lottery/ raffle ticket you need to enter the draw. The more, the higher chance of success, but can only get from world tour series and they do not expire. The qualifiers are essentially proof of completing a classification of event, eg. 100K. You can get this from a world series event and any event showing the qualifying logo. You need at least 1 stone and 1 qualifier of the appropriate distance within 24 months to enter the finals. I have enter UTS 100K. Looking forward to it, but all I can think about is 4am start!

This is so helpful - tried it last weekend and worked a treat. Would you redo this every morning of MDS, or would you keep the tape on for several days? My impression is to let the feet breathe, keep clean, etc.

I meant to tell you; my jacket arrived and it's fantastic! I love the colour (Atlantis). The jacket is light in weight but is really warm and comfortable. The comfort cuffs feel nice and keep out the cold really well. The thin sleeves work perfectly with my long Dakine ski gloves. The gloves cover the sleeves and don't let any cold air in. I love the "zipper garage" microfleece which covers the last 10% of the zip near your neck. It makes it more comfortable when you have it zipped up nice and snug. The jacket seems to encourage you to zip it more. Sarah C

I wore my jacket in -3 Celsius and was nice and warm. Later with the wind blowing right at me I made use of the warm and really comfortable hood. I like that the hood makes very little noise (the down inside the fabric moving) as you walk while wearing it. My only small dislike is the when you are not wearing the hood but have the jacket fully zipped up some cold air some gets in around the collar. With the hood up that doesn't happen. I suggest using a scarf or a neck gaiter (like mine) to resolve this. I'll try cinching the collar the next time I wear it fully zipped; that might resolve it. I'm going to wear this jacket a lot; it's wonderful!

Nice video!!! Cutting off ears is a great tip (instead of making a bunch of little creases, gather into one and remove).
